Any person or persons who camp overnight on any island park shall, upon request by the Norwalk Police Department, register for camping overnight on a form to be prescribed by the Norwalk Police Department.

No person or persons shall camp overnight in any park, except an island park, without first obtaining a permit for overnight camping from the Norwalk Police Department on a form to be prescribed by it.

The Norwalk Police Department is empowered to prescribe a camping registration form which shall require overnight campers to register and may require the following information: the name(s) and address(es) of one or more persons in the camping party; the dates and times within which the party will be camping, the motor vehicle or boat registration number of any motor vehicle or boat used by any member of the camping party; and any other information deemed necessary or appropriate by the Norwalk Police Department.

The Common Council may enact regulations specifically designating particular parks or areas within parks where overnight camping will be permitted. No person or persons shall camp overnight in any park or any area within a park not designated for camping purposes by the Common Council.
Any person who refuses to register as an overnight camper or who fails to obtain a permit for overnight camping or who camps in a park or area not designated as a park or area where camping is permitted shall be fined not more than $50.
