This Part shall be known and may be cited as the "Borough of
Burnham Planning Commission Ordinance of 1968."

There is hereby established and created a Planning Commission
for the Borough of Burnham to be known as the "Borough of Burnham
Planning Commission."

Effective January 1, 1994, the Borough of Burnham Planning Commission
shall consist of five members appointed by the Borough Council of
the Borough of Burnham. In that heretofore the Planning Commission
has consisted of seven members, this reduction shall be effectuated
by allowing the terms to expire and by making no new appointments
to fill the vacancy until such time as the Planning Commission shall
consist of five members. Qualifications of members, terms of office
and filling of vacancies shall be carried out in the manner prescribed
by the "Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code," Act 247 of 1968,
as amended, and as it may hereafter by amended from time to time.

The Borough Council of the Borough of Burnham shall have the
right at any time, upon the recommendation of a majority vote of the
members of the Planning Commission, to declare any seat on the Planning
Commission vacant by reason of the failure of such member to attend
meetings and participate in the affairs of the Planning Commission,
and to appoint a new member to fill the unexpired portion of the term
of office of the member so removed.

All members of the Planning Commission shall serve without pay.

The Planning Commission may make and alter rules and regulations
for its own organization and procedure, consistent with this Part
and with other ordinances of the Borough and the laws of the Commonwealth.

The Planning Commission shall develop and maintain a comprehensive
plan for the Borough of Burnham and shall execute such specific planning
projects as may from time to time be requested by the Borough Council
of the Borough of Burnham within the limits of funds made available
by the Borough of Burnham.

The Borough Council shall provide meeting facilities for the
Planning Commission. Expenditures for the Planning Commission shall
be subject to the prior approval of Borough Council and such expenses
shall be submitted to and paid by the Borough Council in the same
manner as other Borough expenses.
