City of Bridgeton, NJ Article V Sidewalk and Curb Maintenance

§ 307-21 Responsibility of property owner.

In the particular case of sidewalks and curbs, it shall be the duty and responsibility of the owner of property on which and along which sidewalks and curbs are located to keep such sidewalks and curbs in a proper condition and good repair, free of obstruction, debris, or other unsafe conditions, as well as maintain all trees adjacent to such sidewalks. However, such duty and responsibility shall not extend to the owners within the Central Business District which area shall include:

A. Laurel Street from Washington Street to East Broad Street;

B. East Commerce Street from Pearl Street to Atlantic Street; and

C. East Broad Street from Pearl Street to the Cohansey River.
