There is hereby created the position of Laborer/Maintenance,
Road and Sanitation.
A.
Specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
(1)
Working in confined spaces.
(2)
Driving Township vehicles.
(3)
Collecting recyclables.
(4)
Working on sewer line repairs.
(5)
Cleaning Township property.
(6)
Performing tree limb/brush removal.
(7)
Plowing Township roads.
(8)
Clearing Township/school sidewalks and parking lots.
(9)
Maintaining the Township garage in clean order.
(10)
Responding to repair/weather emergencies.
(11)
Collecting and delivering Township mail.
(12)
Performing internal and external painting tasks.
(13)
Maintaining and repairing recreational facilities.
(14)
Participating in carpenter projects.
(15)
Performing other necessary tasks, as assigned.
B.
During the performance of each of the above duties and responsibilities,
the Laborer/Maintenance, Road and Sanitation employee shall represent
the Township of Eagleswood to all residents in a courteous and professional
manner.
To be appointed to the position of Laborer/Maintenance, Road
and Sanitation, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A.
Possess a high school diploma, or equivalent.
B.
The ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days of appointment.
C.
Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds to shoulder height.
D.
Be able to work in all weather conditions.
E.
Be able to represent the Township of Eagleswood to its residents
in a courteous, professional manner.
F.
Possess the ability to read, write and speak and understand or communicate
in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
G.
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental
defects which would impair the proper performance of the required
duties or which might endanger the health and the safety of oneself
or others. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible
so long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after
reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the
accommodations cannot be made because it would cause the employee
undue hardship, such person may not be eligible.
The salary of the Laborer/Maintenance, Road and Sanitation employee
shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and
shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance
of the Township of Eagleswood.
