A.Â
Any Pawtucket police officer who is appointed Chief of Police (while the City is obligated under the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the certified collective bargaining agents of the City's police officers to promote its Chief of Police from police officers within the City's Police Division) shall receive the same pay and benefits upon retirement as those provided to retiring employees of the Police Division as set forth in said collective bargaining, subject to compliance with Article V of Chapter 63 of the Code of Ordinances of the City.

Any Pawtucket Fire Division employee who is appointed Fire Chief (while the City is obligated under the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the certified collective bargaining agents of the City's firefighters to promote its Fire Chief from fire personnel within the City's Fire Division) shall receive the same pay and benefits upon retirement as those provided to retiring employees of the Fire Division as set forth in said collective bargaining, subject to compliance with Article V of Chapter 63 of the Code of Ordinances of the City.
