There is hereby established a department of County government
which shall be known and designated as the "Department of Work Release
and Correctional Community Service."
The function of the Department of Work Release and Correctional
Community Service shall be to administer within Henderson County a
misdemeanant conditional release program pursuant to KRS Chapter 439,
to administer a program for eligible inmates to work on community-service-related
projects pursuant to KRS Chapter 441, for certain persons who have
been found guilty of crimes against the commonwealth within this County
and who are eligible for participation in such program as provided
for in KRS Chapter 439, the ordinances of this County, the rules and
regulations of any court within this County, and such other regulations
as may be established by the Department of Work Release and Correctional
Community Service.
The Department of Work Release and Correctional Community Service
shall be administered by the Henderson County Jailer.
The Director of the Department of Work Release and Correctional
Community Service shall be responsible for the proper operation of
the Department and shall periodically report the actions of the Department
to the Fiscal Court or to the County Judge/Executive, or both, at
such times and in such manner as either or both shall direct; provided,
however, that in any event, the Director shall provide a complete
report of the Department's actions at least semiannually, which shall
include the financial status of said Department.
The operation of the Department of Work Release and Correctional
Community Service shall be financed through the Detention Center budget.
