A Board of Health is hereby authorized and created in and for
the Township of Susquehanna, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, composed
of five members, at least one of whom shall be a reputable licensed
physician of not less than two years' experience in the practice of
his profession. All members of the said Board of Health shall be appointed
with the advice and majority consent of the Board of Commissioners
of said Township. At the first appointment, one member shall be appointed
to serve for one year, one for two years, one for three years, one
for four years, and one for five years, and thereafter one member
shall in like manner be appointed each year to serve for a period
of five years.

The said Board of Health shall have and exercise all the authority,
rights, privileges, powers and duties conferred upon such Board of
Health by the laws of this Township, by the laws of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania. The members thereof shall serve without compensation
except that if a member of the said Board shall be elected secretary
thereof he or she shall be entitled to receive a salary to be fixed
by the Board of Health for that office and ratified by the Commissioners
of said Township, with said salary being paid out of Township funds.
All the members, officers and employees of the said Board of Health
shall severally have and possess all the rights and authority conferred
upon them by law, and shall qualify as such members, officers and
employees, and perform their duties as such in the manner required
by law.

The Board of Health with the advice, consent and approval of
the Township Commissioners may divide said Township into certain health
districts for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this Part,
the applicable laws of this Township, and the laws of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania.

The Board of Health with the advice, consent and approval of
the Township Commissioners shall promulgate such rules and regulations
as may become necessary from time to time to enforce the provisions
of this Part, for the purpose of safeguarding the health, safety and
comfort of all the citizens of said Township.
