As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
ELECTRIC FENCE
Any barrier separating one parcel of land from another carrying
an electrical charge of any amperage or voltage either on an AC or
DC.
No person, firm or corporation shall erect, install or maintain
any electrically charged fencing within the Town, except that the
Building Inspector may issue a permit for an electrically charged
fence to retain or repel animals on a parcel of land which consists
of a minimum of three acres, upon proof that the electrically charged
fence meets the state standards then in effect and upon proof the
fence will not be hazardous to life.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall be fined in accordance with §
1-2 of the Code. Summonses will be issued by the Southington Police Department. All fines are to be paid at the Southington Police Department, or such places as designated on such summons, within seven days after the offense. Fines remaining unpaid more than seven days after the offense shall be doubled. If fines remain unpaid more than 14 days from the time of the offense, a warrant may be issued for the arrest of the offender.
