(a) 
Agency designated. Pursuant to the provisions of the state construction code, in accordance with Section 8b(6) of Act 230,[1] of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, the Department of Community and Neighborhood Services of the City of Holland is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibility of the City of Holland under Act 230, of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, State of Michigan. The City of Holland assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of said Act throughout the corporate limits of the community adopting this ordinance.

(b) 
Code Appendix enforced. Pursuant to the provisions of the state construction code, in accordance with Section 8b(6) of Act 230,[2] of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, Appendix G of the Michigan Building Code shall be enforced by the enforcing agency within the jurisdiction of the community adopting this ordinance.

Pursuant to the power granted cities by Section 3k of Act 279 of the Public Acts of 1909, as amended, and pursuant to the provisions of the State Construction Code Act of 1972, Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, (MCLA § 125.1501 et seq.), the City of Holland hereby assumes the responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the Michigan Mechanical Code throughout its corporate limits.

(a) 
Construction Board. The Construction Board of Appeals shall have six members and two alternates. The members of the Construction Board of Appeals shall be the same as the members of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The alternate members of the Construction Board of Appeals shall be the same as the alternate members of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
(b) 
Term. The term served by the members of the Construction Board of Appeals shall be three years and shall be staggered the same as members of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The initial appointments under this section shall be for terms equal to the remainder of the terms of the members of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
(c) 
Meetings. The Construction Board of Appeals shall meet as a separate meeting immediately following the Zoning Board of Appeals and/or Housing Board of Appeals when agenda items are brought before it. Notice of this separate shall be posted as required by the Open Meetings Act.

Pursuant to the power granted cities by Section 3k of Act 279 of the Public Acts of 1909, as amended, and pursuant to the provisions of the State Construction Code Act of 1972, Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, (MCLA § 125.1501 et seq.), the City of Holland hereby assumes the responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the Michigan Plumbing Code throughout its corporate limits. In addition to the Michigan Plumbing Code, the requirements of Chapter 29 shall also apply with respect to the sanitary sewer system and connections.

No person shall engage in the work of a residential builder or residential maintenance and alteration contractor, as defined in MCLA § 339.2401, unless such person first obtains a license to perform such work or unless the work is exempt from the licensing requirements. No person shall perform installations, alterations or servicing work for which a license is required under the provisions of MCLA § 338.977 (mechanical work), MCLA § 338.885 (electrical work), or MCLA § 338.3525 (plumbing work) unless such person first obtains a license to perform such work.
