All words and phrases used in this article shall be construed and have the same meanings as those words and phrases defined in MCLA § 324.80101 et seq., Marine Safety, as amended.

On the waters of Lake Macatawa, locally known as the "Narrows," on that portion bound to the west by longitudinal line 86° 10' 0.76" W (-86.16688) and to the east by longitudinal line 86° 9' 16.110" W (-86.15447), within the City of Holland, Ottawa County, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.
"Slow-no wake speed" means a very slow speed whereby the wake or wash created by the vessel would be minimal.
The longitudinal line, 86° 10' 0.76" W (-86.16688), is approximated by extending Old Orchard Road (City of Holland) north to the northern shore.
The longitudinal line, 86° 9' 16.110"W (-86.15447), can be approximated by extending a line south from the navigational aid, Point Superior Light 7, to the south shore.
The provisions of this regulation shall apply only to vessels used for recreational purposes.
The boundaries of the area described above shall be marked with signs and/or with buoys at all points of public entry. It is the responsibility of City of Holland to provide, place and maintain all signage, including any buoys, to notify boaters of this watercraft control. This includes all public access sites within the area described above. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with Michigan's approved Uniform Waterway Marking System. Buoys shall not be placed in a commercial shipping channel. This watercraft control is only enforceable when properly marked.

On the waters of Lake Macatawa, City of Holland, Ottawa County, it is unlawful for:
(a) 
The operator of a vessel less than 26 feet in length to exceed a slow-no wake speed when within 300 feet of any shore, dock, or pierhead.
(b) 
The operator of a vessel 26 feet or more in length to exceed a slow-no wake speed when within 600 feet of any shore, dock, or pierhead.
"Slow-no wake speed" means a very slow speed whereby the wake or wash created by the vessel would be minimal.

On the waters of Lake Macatawa, on that portion of the lake located within the City of Holland and being east of a line beginning where Thomas Avenue, as extended, intersects the water's edge and thence north to the City's northern boundary and west of a line beginning where Cleveland Avenue, as extended, intersects the water's edge, and thence northwesterly to the City's northern boundary, City of Holland, County of Ottawa, State of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel, 26 feet or greater in length, to exceed a slow — no-wake speed.
The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

On the waters of the Macatawa River, City of Holland, County of Ottawa, from a line where Fourth Street as extended west intersects the water's edge and thence northeasterly to the nearest north shore, upstream to a point 1,500 feet upstream from the North River Avenue bridge, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow — no-wake speed.

Within the area hereafter described, on the waters of Lake Macatawa within the City of Holland, Ottawa County, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow — no-wake speed. Commencing at a point where Thomas Avenue meets the water's edge, due north to the south side of the shipping channel, then northeast along the south side of the shipping channel to a point of intersection with Cleveland Avenue extended, due south along Cleveland Avenue extended to the shore. The boundary of the area to be marked with buoys placed pursuant to permit issued by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
