There shall be a Communication Technology Department, the Director of which shall be the Communication Technology Director, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, in accordance with Section 4.3(e) of the City Charter. The Communication Technology Department shall consist of the Media Division and Information Technology Division. The Media Division shall be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and directing a variety of community relations, public information and social media activities as well as directing the internal printing and copying service, internal mail distribution system, and video production activities. The Information Technology Division shall be responsible for managing and directing assigned City information and computer processing systems, including determining hardware and software requirements; designing and implementing systems; and resolving hardware and software problems. The Director shall provide guidance and recommendations to all City departments regarding communications and information technology.
