[Adopted 7-9-1962 (Ch. 20, Art. I, of the 1965 Code)]
The Town of Lewiston, pursuant to § 244-d of the General Municipal Law, hereby establishes a Joint Recreation Commission with the Village of Lewiston.
The facilities now used separately by the Town of Lewiston and the Village of Lewiston for recreational purposes shall hereafter be used by the Joint Recreation Commission for the benefit of both the Town of Lewiston and the Village of Lewiston.
The personnel required for the proper supervision of the various recreation programs shall be employed by the Joint Recreation Commission to the extent that appropriations are made available for that purpose.

The cost of equipment and operation of such recreation program shall be apportioned as follows:
A. 
For the period from January 1, 1974, to December 31, 1974:
(1) 
Twelve thousand three hundred fifty dollars to the Town of Lewiston.
(2) 
The lesser of 1/3 or $6,500 to the Village of Lewiston, plus the cost of normal maintenance and operating expenses for the physical plant facilities located within the Village of Lewiston utilized in the program.
B. 
For years subsequent to 1974:
(1) 
Two-thirds to the Town of Lewiston.
(2) 
One-third to the Village of Lewiston, plus the cost of normal maintenance and operating expenses for the physical plant facilities located within the Village of Lewiston utilized in the program.
The Supervisor of the Town of Lewiston shall be the custodian of moneys made available for expenditures made hereunder, the village to pay its share on or about July 1, 1962, and on or about such date in subsequent years, and the Town to pay its share from time to time as needed or otherwise at its discretion.
This ordinance shall continue in full force and effect until repealed or until a similar ordinance adopted by the Village of Lewiston is repealed, and may be amended from time to time.
