When deemed desirable, the Mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, may appoint a suitable person as Prosecuting Attorney for the City who shall be independent of the City Attorney. Such person, in addition to the qualifications prescribed by ordinance, shall be licensed to practice law in the courts of the State. In such event, the Prosecuting Attorney so appointed, in lieu of the City Attorney, shall have only those duties set forth in Section 115.150(2) and (5) of this Chapter, shall make quarterly reports to the Board of Aldermen of all the unsatisfied judgments, their date and amount recovered in favor of the City before the Municipal Court as provided in Section 115.160 of this Chapter, and shall carry out the provisions of Section 130.160 of this Title "Duties of City's Prosecuting Attorney". The Prosecuting Attorney shall take the oath and give the bond required by Section 115.050 or successor enactments of this Chapter.
