This Article shall be known and may be cited as the "Union Founder's Day Article."

The first (1st) Saturday in June of each year is hereby established as Union Founder's Day. A Citywide festival celebrating the founding of the City in 1827 shall be held annually.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this Article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this Section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
ASSOCIATION
The Union Merchants' Association.
CITY
The City of Union.

A. 
The City is hereby granted the control of the Founders' Day functions as any other City function.
B. 
All funds generated by such functions shall be deposited into the park's general account and shall be budgeted each year as any other activity within the park system.
C. 
All functions shall remain under complete control and approval of the Board of Aldermen, per Section 245.040 of this Code.
