[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Royalton 1-25-1967 by L.L. No. 1-1967. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Town Law § 133, as last amended by Chapter 647 of the Laws of 1951,[1] is hereby amended in its application to the Town of Royalton, New York, to read as follows:
§ 133. When ordinance shall take effect. Except in the case of a zoning ordinance, every ordinance and every amendment to an ordinance hereafter adopted or approved by the Town board of the Town of Royalton shall be entered in its minutes and a notice of setting forth the title thereof and a brief description of the provisions thereof and a statement that the original is on file and may be inspected in the office of the Town Clerk shall be published in a newspaper published in the Town, if any, or in such newspaper published in the county in which such Town may be located having a circulation in such Town as the Town Board may designate, once, and a printed copy of such notice shall be posted on the sign board maintained by the Town Clerk pursuant to Subdivision 6, § 30, of this chapter, and affidavits of such publication and posting shall be filed with the Town Clerk. Such ordinance or amendment shall take effect 10 days after such publication and posting; but such ordinance or amendment shall take effect from the date of its service as against a person served personally with a copy thereof, certified by the Town Clerk under the corporate seal of the Town; and showing the date of its passage and entry in the minutes.

Every ordinance and every amendment or supplement to an ordinance hereafter adopted or approved by the Town Board of the Town of Royalton which is or may be required to be published in one or more newspapers in order to make such ordinance, amendment, or supplement effectual shall not be so published in full, but it shall be sufficient to publish in such newspaper or newspapers a notice setting forth the title thereof, a brief description of the provisions thereof and a statement that the full text thereof is on file and may be inspected in the office of the Town Clerk.

This chapter shall supersede in its application to the Town of Royalton the provisions of §§ 133, 264 and 265 of the Town Law relating to publication only of an ordinance, amendment or a supplement to an ordinance adopted or approved by the Town Board.
