A. Appointment. The Mayor, with the approval of the Board of
Aldermen, shall appoint a Water Superintendent and a Water System
Clerk who shall hold their office at the pleasure of the Board of
Aldermen and receive such compensation as the Board of Aldermen may
by resolution from time to time appoint.
B. Water Superintendent — Duties. The Water Superintendent
shall have charge of the physical apparatus of the City water system,
including pumps, tanks, lines, meters, supplies and all equipment
and property of every nature and sort. It shall be his/her duty to
care for the system, operate the pumps, read meters and do each and
every thing in connection with the charge and supervision thereof
which may be necessary for the maintenance and operation thereof.
He/she shall have charge of all connections and disconnections for
consumers and shall collect all charges for water consumed. He/she
shall perform such other duties in connection therewith as the Board
of Aldermen may from time to time direct.
C. Water System Clerk — Duties. The Water System Clerk
shall have charge of all clerical work in connection with the water
system. He/she shall keep an accurate account of all charges and collections
and a careful account of water sold to the various consumers and such
other duties as the Board of Aldermen may from time to time direct.
