§ 152-1 Duty of owners. [1]

It shall be the duty of the owner of any store, house or other building being or fronting on any public street of the said Borough of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, to number the same, which number shall conform to the requirements of the Uniform Construction Code, using Arabic numerals or alphabet letters at least four inches high, with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch, and of a color which contrasts with the immediate background. Where access is by means of a private road and the building cannot be viewed from the public way, a monument, pole or other sign or means shall be used to identify the structure.

§ 152-2 Direction of numbering.

To regulate the numbering of the stores, houses or other buildings aforesaid, it is directed that the same shall be numbered as follows: north and south from Main Street, east and west from Broad Street, counting each square 100 numbers and allowing one number for each and every 20 feet.

§ 152-3 Numbers designated.

The even numbers shall be placed upon the west side of the streets running north and south, and the odd numbers shall be placed upon the east side of the streets thereof; the even numbers shall be placed upon the south side of the streets running east and west, and the odd numbers shall be placed upon the north side thereof.

§ 152-4 Violations and penalties.

Any person who violates or permits a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding brought before a Magisterial District Judge under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000, plus court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees incurred by the Borough in the enforcement proceedings. Upon judgment against any person by summary conviction, or by proceedings by summons on default of the payment of the fine or penalty imposed and the costs, the defendant may be sentenced and committed to the Borough lockup for a period not exceeding 10 days or to the county jail for a period not exceeding 30 days. Each day or portion thereof that such violation continues or is permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense, and each section of this chapter that is violated shall also constitute a separate offense.
