A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Louisiana, being marked
and designated as the 2002 National Electrical Code as published by
the National Fire Protection Association, be and is hereby adopted
as the Electrical Code of the City of Louisiana in the State of Missouri
for regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, erection,
installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement,
addition to, use or maintenance of electrical systems in the City
of Louisiana and providing for the issuance of permits and collection
of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions,
conditions and terms of such 2002 National Electrical Code, published
by the National Fire Protection Association, on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Louisiana are hereby referred to,
adopted and made part hereof as if fully set out in this Article.

The following Sections of the National Electrical Code adopted
herein are hereby revised:
Section 101.1 Insert: City of Louisiana.
Section 106.5.2 Insert: See fees set out in the Building Code amendments, Section
500.020 of this Code.

Nothing in this Article or in the code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes or action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section
500.290 of this Article; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Article.

All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

Any person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall
fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred
dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days,
or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues
after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
