The purpose of this position is to provide the Village of Bosque Farms with supplementary clerical support services to the Clerk/Administrator. This position functions under the supervision of the Clerk/Administrator and is intended to also provide support to the Utility and Animal Control Departments as assigned.
The Administrative Assistant:
A. 
Is responsible for greeting customers, answering phones and front desk duties as required.
B. 
Handles customer concerns related to utilities and animal control.
C. 
Is responsible for receiving and logging in utility payments.
D. 
Performs routine clerical duties to include: incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining Village records and typing of general correspondence as needed by the Clerk/Administrator and/or Mayor.
E. 
Provides assistance in searching records and files as needed to meet informational needs of the public, staff and governing body.
F. 
Develops correspondence, announcements, reports and other Village material for the public, staff and governing body as required.
G. 
Is responsible for daily bank depositing and other errands as assigned.
H. 
Performs other duties as assigned by Clerk/Administrator.
I. 
Is responsible for the quarterly Village newsletter.
The minimum requirements for the Administrative Assistant are:
A. 
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
B. 
The ability to type on a typewriter and computer keyboard.
C. 
The ability to work with several types of computer software.
D. 
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, staff and governing body.
A.

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tool or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop, kneel and crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
There will be a six-month probationary period, at which time an evaluation of job performance will be conducted and discussed with the employee. At this time, the employee will either be made a regular employee, be allowed to continue on probationary period, not to exceed one year total, or be terminated based on evaluation results.
