[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of
Brandon 12-14-1998 as §§ 2-1-2 and 2-1-3 of the 1998 Code. Amendments
noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to the Wisconsin Statutes, the voting polls in the
Village of Brandon, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, shall be opened
from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections.
Canvas Board. The Canvas Board shall consist of seven citizens appointed
by the Village President from lists submitted by the two major political
parties subject to confirmation by the Village Board for two-year
terms commencing May 1 in the year of appointment.[1]
Reduction of number of election officials. Pursuant to the Wisconsin
Statutes, there is hereby established one set of election officials
to conduct all elections of the Village which shall consist of seven
Canvas Board members. However, the Village Clerk shall have the power
to prescribe the number of election officials. The Clerk shall determine
in advance of each election whether the number of election officials
for such election should be reduced from the number prescribed by
the Wisconsin Statutes, and if such a reduction is so determined,
the Village Clerk shall further redistribute duties among the remaining
officials.[2]
Alternate sets of election officials. Because § 7.30(1),
Wis. Stats., allows for the creation of alternate or two sets of election
officials to work at different times on election day, the Village
Board authorizes the selection of alternate and/or two sets of election
officials to staff the polls on election day.
