The City may repair sidewalks and sidewalk curbing in public right-of-way as it deems appropriate. Initial construction of sidewalks shall remain the responsibility of the developer and the owner of the lot in the newly approved subdivision.

A. 
City To Supervise. The City shall supervise the building of all sidewalks on any and all streets in the City, and see that they are built in accordance with this Section.
B. 
Construction Requirements. Sidewalk construction requirements are established in the City of Blue Springs Design and Construction Manual. All sidewalks shall be constructed to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) guidelines.[1]

All crossings built by the City shall conform to the specifications and material requirements that the City shall prescribe and shall be built under the supervision of the City Engineer or their designee.

The City Council may by ordinance or resolution condemn defective sidewalks and may remove the same and provide for the construction of new sidewalks in their place.
