[Adopted 2-22-1989 by Ord. No. 6-89 (Ch. 3A of the 1969 Code)]
The office of Chief Financial Officer is hereby created for the Township of Morris.
A. 
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Township Committee, and the term of office shall be four years, which shall run from January 1 in the year in which the Chief Financial Officer is appointed.
B. 
Any vacancy in said office shall be filled by appointment of the Township Committee and shall be for the balance of the four-year term remaining.

The Chief Financial Officer shall meet the statutory qualifications and requirements established by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.
The Chief Financial Officer shall receive as compensation such sum as may be fixed and adopted by the Township Committee in the Annual Salary Ordinance of the Township of Morris.
The Chief Financial Officer shall function as the Director of Finance and be responsible for the supervision, administration and operation of the Finance Department, which shall include the Tax Office, Treasurer's Office, financial electronic data processing operations, sewer fee collections, purchasing and other duties which may be assigned from time to time, subject to the laws of the State of New Jersey.
