[1974 Code Sec. 15-1]
There is hereby established in and for the Township a board
to be known as the Recreation Board.
The Recreation Board shall consist of seven members. All seven
members shall be appointed by Council for a term of four years, provided,
however, that in making the initial appointments, only one member
shall be appointed for a term of four years, and other members shall
be appointed for a lesser period so that not more than one member's
term shall expire each year. Thereafter, each member shall be appointed
for a term of four years.

The members of the Recreation Board shall meet within 30 days
after the date of this chapter and shall, from their own membership,
elect a Chairperson and Secretary and such other officers as the members
may deem necessary and proper. Said officers are to be elected to
serve for a period of one year.

Members of the Recreation Board shall serve without salary.
Vacancies on the Recreation Board shall be filled by Council.

The Recreation Board is hereby authorized to supervise, maintain
and regulate parks and recreational areas and facilities, and to regulate
and supervise the construction of buildings and other facilities within
the Township, provided, however, that when the expenditure of money
is involved, such expenditures must be approved by Council.

The Recreation Board shall annually submit a report to Council
as to the activities of the Board and shall include an analysis of
the adequacy of the facilities and to what extent the needs of the
public are being met, and shall report on any other matters required
by law.

The Recreation board shall have the power to adopt rules and
regulations deemed necessary and expedient for the proper conduct
of its business.

The Recreation Board shall, from time to time, make recommendations
to Council regarding acquisition of park and recreation sites and
facilities.
