Whenever the enforcement officer finds a violation of this Part
1, or of any permit or order issued pursuant hereto, the enforcement officer may issue a stop-work order on all development activity on the subject property or on the portion of the activity in direct violation of this Part
1. In every case, the enforcement officer shall issue an order that:

the time period for remediation; and
C. Requires compliance with this Part
1 prior to the completion of the activity in violation.

Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this Part
1 shall constitute a violation, and any person convicted thereof shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in Chapter
1, Article
II, of the Village Code.
The Village may also take any other legal action necessary to
prevent or remedy any violation, including appropriate equitable or
injunctive relief and, if applicable, an assessment to the violator
for the removal, correction, or termination of any adverse effects
upon any property resulting from any unauthorized activity for which
legal action under this section may have been brought.
The Village may record a notice of violation on the title to
the property.
The enforcement officer shall inform the owner that any such
violation is considered a willful act to increase flood damages and,
therefore, may cause coverage by a standard flood insurance policy
to be suspended.
