All City elections, general and special, shall be conducted
in conformity with all applicable Missouri State election laws.

Any bona fide resident of the City qualified to vote in State
and County elections shall be entitled to vote in all elections for
City Officers.

All ordinances calling for any election required hereunder shall
be designated a special ordinance.

A.
The City
Clerk shall serve as the election official for the City of Platte
City, Missouri, and perform any duties related thereto with the exception
of those functions performed by the County election authority.
B.
A Deputy
City Clerk may be appointed by special ordinance for the sole purpose
of performing the duties of the City election official when the City
Clerk is unavailable.
Any person who desires to become a candidate for an elective
City office at the general City election shall file with the City
Clerk, not prior to the hour of 8:00 A.M., on the sixteenth (16th)
Tuesday prior to, nor later than 5:00 P.M., on the eleventh (11th)
Tuesday prior to the next City municipal election, a written declaration
of his/her intent to become a candidate at said election. The City
Clerk shall keep a permanent record of the names of the candidates,
the offices for which they seek election, and the date of their filing,
and their names shall appear on the ballots in that order.
No person shall be a candidate for municipal office unless such
person complies with the provisions of Section 115.346, RSMo., regarding
payment of municipal taxes or user fees.

The City Clerk shall, on or before the sixteenth (16th) Tuesday
prior to any election at which City offices are to be filled by said
election, notify the general public of the opening filing date, the
office or offices to be filled, the proper place for filing, and the
closing filing date of the election. Such notification may be accomplished
by legal notice published in at least one (1) newspaper of general
circulation in the City.
In City elections, the City Clerk shall notify the Board Of
Election Commissioners prior to 5:00 P.M. on the tenth (10th) Tuesday
prior to any City election except as noted in Section 115.125.1, RSMo.
The notice shall be in writing, shall specify that the Board of Aldermen
is calling the election, the purpose of the election, the date of
the election, and shall include a certified copy of the legal notice
to be published including the sample ballot. The notice and any other
information required by this Section may, with the prior notification
to the election authority receiving the notice, be accepted by facsimile
transmission prior to 5:00 P.M. on the tenth (10th) Tuesday prior
to the election, provided that the original copy of the notice and
a certified copy of the legal notice to be published shall be received
in the office of the election authority within three (3) business
days from the date of the facsimile transmission.

The City shall be and it is hereby declared to be divided into
three (3) Wards to be known as "First Ward", "Second Ward" and "Third
Ward".

Ward One. All that part of the City lying north and west
of the following line: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline
of HH Highway and the eastern boundary line of the City of Platte
City, thence proceeding westerly and northwest along the centerline
of HH Highway to the intersection of the centerline of Prairie View
Road and HH Highway AKA Main Street, thence proceeding south along
the centerline of Prairie View Road to the intersection of the centerline
of Highway 92 and Prairie View Road, thence northwesterly along the
centerline of Highway 92 to the intersection of the centerline of
Fourth Street and Highway 92, thence proceeding south along the centerline
of Fourth Street to the intersection of the centerline of Fourth Street
and Zed Martin Street, thence west along centerline of Zed Martin
Street to the intersection of the centerline of Second Street and
Zed Martin Street, thence south along the centerline of Second Street
to the intersection of Second Street and Spring Street, thence west

Drive to the intersection of Collins Drive and a point described as
25 feet due east of the northeast corner of Lot 13, May Day #3 Subdivision
as approved by the City of Platte City, Missouri, on May 8, 1968,
thence west 114.77 feet of Lot 13, May Day #3 Subdivision to the intersection
of the City limits of Platte City, Missouri.
B.
Ward Two. All that part of the City lying south and east
of the line described above to define the area of Ward One, except
that part of the City of Platte City described as Ward Three herein
below.
C.
Ward Three. All that part of the City lying south and east
of the following: Beginning at the intersection of the Eastern City
limits of Platte City, Missouri, and HH Highway, thence west along
the centerline of Highway HH, thence westerly along the centerline
of Highway HH to the intersection of the centerline of Highway HH
and Prairie View Road, thence south along the centerline of Prairie
View Road to the intersection of Prairie View and Highway 92, thence
westerly along the centerline of Highway 92 to the intersection of
Highway 92 and Fourth Street, thence south along the centerline of
Fourth Street to the intersection of Maple Drive to the intersection
of the centerline of Maple Drive and Fourth Street, thence southeasterly
along the centerline of Maple Drive to the intersection of the centerline
of Maple Drive and Hillcrest Drive, thence southeasterly along the
centerline of Hillcrest to the intersection of the centerline of Hillcrest
Drive and Thomas Road, thence east along the centerline of Thomas
Drive to a point described as the intersection of the centerline of
Thomas Road and the western boundary of the east half of the southeast ¼
section of 36 t53 r35, thence due south along the west line of the
southeast ¼ of section 36 t53 r35 to the southern City limits
of Platte City, Missouri.
