No person shall move any structure, building or residence from its present site for the purpose of locating it elsewhere for its continued use on another site unless it fully complies with the Building Code adopted in Section
500.020.

Any structure, building or dwelling which cannot be further
used for its present occupancy or remodeled within the requirements
of the Building Code for a different occupancy on its present site,
cannot be moved elsewhere for use on another site, but must be dismantled
or otherwise destroyed.

Where the City Council finds that extraordinary hardships may
result from strict compliance with the terms of this Chapter, it may
vary the terms so that substantial justice may be done and the public
interest secured. Such variance will not have the effect of nullifying
the intent and purpose of this Chapter.

Any contractor or person in charge of the work of moving buildings
of any description from one (1) place to another within the corporate
limits of the City, where it is necessary to use the streets or alleys
for such purpose, shall move same to one side of the street at night
so the public can pass between the object being moved and the sidewalk.
There shall be placed at each corner of such object, by the person
in charge, a lantern showing a red light between the time of darkness
and daylight. Such object being moved shall not occupy the streets
for an unnecessary length of time, but the work of moving shall be
continuous and without delay except by special written permission
of the Building Official.
