The position of Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs for the Township of Harrison, in the County of Gloucester, is hereby created and employment of a qualified person for that position is hereby authorized.
Requires BS/BA in business administration, public administration, economics, marketing, or any related field; or equivalent combination of training and experiences which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
The Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs shall perform such services and have such duties as shall be directed and determined by the Township Committee including, but not limited to, planning, directing and implementing comprehensive economic development programs to sustain existing business initiatives and actively seek to establish new initiatives to solicit and bring in new business enterprises within our community. Establishing a leadership role to bring all categories of merchants, EDC (local and county), and Planning Board together to maximize all advantages for positive results.
The Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs shall be appointed by the majority of the Township Committee.
The term of office of the Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs shall be at the pleasure of the Township Committee, and he/she may be removed at any time by a majority vote of the Township Committee.
The compensation of the Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs shall be as set forth in the Harrison Township Salary Ordinance[1] and amendments thereto.
