The seal, circular in form, and heretofore provided and used
by the City of Mendota, with the inscription "City of Mendota, Illinois,"
around the outer edge of said seal, and in the interior and center
of said circle the word "Seal," shall be and is hereby established
and declared to be the Corporate Seal of the City of Mendota. Said
seal shall be used in cases where it shall be required by the laws
of the United States, the laws of the several respective states of
the United States, and the ordinances of the City of Mendota, and
in all cases in which, by the laws and customs of nations, it is necessary
to use a seal by a corporation.
The seal shall remain in the custody of the City Clerk, to be
used by the Clerk and the Mayor, as is provided in this article.
