A. 
Registration Required. It shall be a violation of this Chapter for any person, sole proprietor, partnership, corporation or other business organization to carry on a business at a physical location within the City of Ozark or to conduct a business which requires the issuance of a permit by the City under this Code without first registering said business with the Planning and Development Department of the City. The requirement to register shall not apply to participants in a Farmer's Market or an itinerant merchant participating in a City, County or charitable organization's sponsored event for seventy-two (72) consecutive hours or less. The Planning and Development Department shall establish and provide forms for such registration.
B. 
Term Of Registration. All business registrations shall commence on January first (1st) each year and expire December thirty-first (31st). All registrants must comply with the Statutes of the State of Missouri and the ordinances of the City of Ozark.
C. 
Registration Certificate, Display Of. The Planning and Development Department shall issue a certificate of registration which the business shall prominently display and produce if requested by a duly authorized agent for the City.
D. 
Assignability. No certificate of registration shall be assignable or transferable.
E. 
Enforcement. Whenever the City Official charged with enforcement of this Chapter determines that there are grounds to believe that there has been a violation of this Chapter, the official shall provide the business with ten (10) calendar days' written notice to come into compliance prior to the issuance of any summons to the City Municipal Court. The foregoing notice may be served by personal delivery, first class mail to the address of the location of the business or by posting on the premises or vehicle used to conduct the business.
F. 
Penalties. Any person, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or other business entity found responsible for violating this Section shall be punished as proscribed in Section 100.220 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ozark.

Every business required to register under this Chapter shall pay a registration fee, said fee shall be as set forth or as established from time to time by ordinance of the Board of Aldermen and on file in the office of the City Clerk. This registration fee shall cover the costs of administration, maintenance, collation and dissemination of the information obtained through the registration process.
