The Select Board, acting as Water Commissioners, shall have the authority to place restrictions on the use of municipal water. Such restrictions shall include the hours and purpose of use and the quantity of consumption. The Select Board shall by public notice post the limitation of the restricted uses of water, and the restrictions shall become effective by public notice and publication in a newspaper of local circulation.
Violations for water use:
A. 
Single-family dwellings:
(1) 
The first violation shall result in a written warning.
(2) 
The second violation shall result in the immediate shutoff of water and a fine of $25.
(3) 
All subsequent violations shall result in the immediate shutoff of water and a fine of $100.
B. 
Multifamily dwellings (defined as two or more dwelling units in a single structure):
(1) 
The first violation shall result in a written warning.
(2) 
The second violation shall result in a fine of $50.
(3) 
All subsequent violations shall result in a fine of $150.
C. 
Industrial and commercial buildings:
(1) 
The first violation shall result in a written warning.
(2) 
The second violation shall result in an immediate shutoff of water and a fine of $50.
(3) 
All subsequent violations shall result in the shutoff of water and a fine of $150.
A. 
Fees to turn the water back on shall be paid to the Treasurer-Collector before 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday so that the water service can be turned on before 4:00 p.m.
B. 
Fees would be reimbursed if the person is found not guilty in the courts.
