The office of Water and Sewer Commissioner is hereby established
for the City.

The Water and Sewer Commissioner shall be appointed by the Mayor
with the approval of the Board of Aldermen.

The Water and Sewer Commissioner shall hold his/her office for
a term to run concurrently with the term of the Mayor by whom he/she
is appointed and until a successor shall have been appointed and qualified.

A. The
Water and Sewer Commissioner shall:
1. Superintend and personally supervise the construction, repair and
establishment of all sewers and waterworks facilities, reservoirs,
meters, manholes and all works therein.
2. Visit, when necessary, all public works involving sewers, waterworks
in the City while in progress, and make estimates thereof and see
that the contractors are constructing the same according to contract.
3. Suspend the execution of every contract when the contractor is not
performing the same properly and report such fact to the Board of
Aldermen at the next meeting.
4. Make all necessary repairs to the waterworks and sewers of the City
under the direction of the Board of Aldermen.
5. Supervise employees and write all necessary documents to the Board
and City Administrator as required under the administrative functions
of said office.
