The name of the commission described in this division is the
Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Commission.

The purposes and duties for which the Rappahannock Juvenile
Detention Commission has been established are:
A. Those set forth in Code of Virginia, § 16.1-315 et seq.,
entitled "Facilities for Detention and Other Residential Care."
B. To establish, equip, enlarge, and maintain juvenile detention facilities
and to make rules, regulations, and policies for such facilities in
concert with the representatives of the other participating political
subdivisions.

The City Council shall, after consultation with the Chief Judge
of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, appoint one member of
the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Commission for a four-year term.
Such person shall be a City resident at all times and may also serve
as a member of the City Council.
