The Mayor, with the consent and approval of a majority of the members elected to the City Council, shall appoint some suitable and competent person to the office of City Treasurer.

The City Treasurer shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years and shall serve until his/her services are terminated or his/her successor is appointed.

The City Treasurer shall perform those duties as required by virtue of State law and the ordinances of this City.
