A.
Generally. Every automobile owned by the City shall be plainly marked
upon each side of the hood thereof with the words "City of Taunton"
and upon each side thereof with the name of the department in which
it is used, in letters not less than two inches high.
B.
Application of section to Police Department. The provisions of this
section shall not apply to the Police Department.
No officer, agent, servant or employee of the City shall use
any automobile belonging to the City except in the actual performance
of the duties of his office or employment or permit such automobile
to be used by any person not in the employ of the City.

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law,
rule or regulation to the contrary, the Commissioner of the Department
of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to provide for the
affixation of POW/MIA decals on the lower corner of the rear window
farthest removed from the driver on all passenger motor vehicles owned
by the City of Taunton; provided, however, that said decals are supplied
to the City without cost.
