As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CROSSWALK
Shall be defined as follows, the same generally in accordance with Section 102 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 102, as the same may in the future be amended:
A. 
That part of a roadway at an intersection where a crosswalk is established which is included within the connections of the lateral lines of the sidewalks on opposite sides of the street or highway, measured from the curbs or, in the absence of curbs, from the edges of the traversable roadway; and, in the absence of a sidewalk on one side of the roadway, that part of a roadway included within the extension of the lateral lines of the existing sidewalk.
B. 
Any portion of a roadway at an intersection of elsewhere distinctly indicated for pedestrian crossing by lines or other markings on the surface.
Except when authorized by a police officer or other appropriately attired person authorized to direct, control or regulate traffic, it shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to cross the roadway at any of the following streets, at the intersection with that street indicated, except in a designated crosswalk:

Official pedestrian crosswalk lines shall be painted or affixed and maintained upon the roadways listed in § 137-52, in accordance with regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as are then in effect.
Any person operating a motor vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians walking in the crosswalk designated under this article.
Any person or persons who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction before a Magisterial District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25, as well as costs of prosecution for each separate offense. To the extent permitted by state law, such fine shall be paid over to the Millcreek Township Treasurer.
