A general election for the elective officers of the City shall be held on the first (1st) Tuesday after the first (1st) Monday in April of each year.

Special elections shall be called by ordinances as may be provided by law.

The conduct of all elections in the City shall be governed by the provisions of Chapter 115, RSMo., as the same now exists or as hereafter amended, except as may now or hereafter be provided by ordinance not inconsistent therewith.

When the City Council shall have declared any person elected to any City office, the City Clerk shall immediately administer the oath of office to the person, who shall attest their oath by signature. The original of the oath shall be delivered to each person so elected as a certificate of his/her election, attested by the City Seal.

A. 
Any person who desires to become a candidate at any City election for any elective office shall file with the City Clerk of the City, not sooner than 8:00 A.M. of the seventeenth (17th) Tuesday prior to the election and will close at 5:00 P.M. on the fourteenth (14th) Tuesday prior to the election, a written declaration of his/her intent to become a candidate at said election. The form of said written declaration shall be substantially as follows:
"To the Clerk of the City of Farmington:
I, the undersigned, having all the legal qualifications required by law, hereby notify you, in writing, that I am and shall be a candidate at the ensuing municipal election for the office of (here name the office and, if for Councilman, name the ward) and request you to place my name on the official ballots as a candidate at said election for the aforesaid office."
B. 
The City Clerk shall, before the seventeenth (17th) Tuesday prior to any election in which offices are to be filled, notify the general public of the opening filing date, the office or offices to be filled, the proper place for fling and the closing filing date of the election. Such notification may be accomplished by legal notice published in at least one (1) newspaper of general circulation in the City.
C. 
City Clerk To File Ballot Language. The City Clerk shall submit the ballot language to the election authority at least ten (10) Tuesdays before the election.

All of that part of the City of Farmington, Missouri, lying north and east of a line described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of State Route 00 and the centerline of Wolf Creek; thence westerly along the centerline of State Route 00 to its intersection with centerline of State Route 32; thence westerly along the centerline of State Route 32 to its intersection with the centerline of State Route D; thence northerly along the centerline of State Route D to its intersection with the centerline of a railroad right-of-way now or formerly owned by the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
2. 
Ward II. All of that part of the City of Farmington, Missouri, lying north and west of a line described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Pimville Road and its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Park Hills, Missouri; thence easterly along the centerline of Pimville Road to the centerline of Bray Road; thence northerly along the centerline of Bray Road to the centerline of West Liberty Street; thence easterly along the centerline of West Liberty Street to its intersection with the centerline of State Route D; thence northerly along the centerline of State Route D to its intersection with the centerline of a railroad right-of-way now or formerly owned by the Missouri Pacific Railroad.

Ward III. All of that part of the City of Farmington, Missouri, lying south and west of a line described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Pimville Road and its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Park Hills, Missouri; thence easterly along the centerline of Pimville Road to the centerline of Bray Road; thence northerly along the centerline of Bray Road to the centerline of West Liberty Street; thence easterly along the centerline of West Liberty Street to State Route D; thence southerly along the centerline of State Route D to its intersection with the centerline of Columbia Street; thence southerly along the centerline of South Washington Street to its end; thence continuing southerly along the projected centerline of South Washington Street to its intersection with the south line of U.S. Survey 1015; thence easterly along the south line of U.S. Survey 1015 to its intersection with the centerline of State Route H; thence southerly along the centerline of State Route H to its intersection with the centerline of U.S. Highway 67.
