The extension of the City's water mains where there are no water lines existing or where there is a need for water services are subject to provisions of this Article.

A. 
Extensions made under this Article shall be and remain the property of the City in consideration of its perpetual upkeep and maintenance.
B. 
The City reserves the right to extend further these mains and connecting mains, and customers connected thereto shall not entitle the original applicants to a refund for the attaching of any such customers.
C. 
The deposits made by applicants hereunder do not relieve applicants or plumbers from the payment of tapping fees as provided for in Section 705.110.
D. 
All applicants in areas outside of the City limits shall be governed by all the conditions herein.
E. 
Extension Required. A main extension shall be required:
1. 
Where service lines would otherwise be required to cross private property;
2. 
Where the length of the service line would exceed six hundred (600) feet; or
3. 
Where otherwise designated by the water and sewer superintendent.

The location of water mains shall be in streets, alleys or on easements formally approved by the City Council. When installation is placed on an easement, this easement shall be furnished by applicant without any cost to the City.
