When signs are posted giving notice thereof, no person shall
operate a commercial vehicle with a gross weight over twenty-six thousand
(26,000) pounds upon the following streets or parts thereof, except
for the purpose of making local deliveries. Construction vehicles
and trash trucks working in areas serviced only by such streets shall
enter and leave the area of such streets by the shortest and most
direct routes. Passenger buses shall be exempted from these regulations.
