Work that is deemed necessary for acute safety will have priority
over all other work.

All road repairs and expenditures will be voted on and approved
by the Board of Trustees in advance of work or contracts; with exception,
the Road Commissioner will be authorized to approve up to a total
annual amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for emergency repairs
without the approval of the Board of Trustees.

All collector and minor roads, when resurfaced, will be from
seventeen (17) feet to eighteen (18) feet wide, except when entering
intersections and on curves, where they can go to a maximum of twenty
(20) feet for safety.

All culverts for entrances and exits to Village roads and streets
will be furnished and installed at the property owner's expense when
the entrance and exit is constructed. All such entrances and exits
must be approved prior to and after installation by the Road Commissioner.
Any entrances or exits serving a residence or business constructed
before the date of this Article which at the judgement of the Road
Commissioner requires a culvert will be installed at the expense of
the Village. Any entrance or exit constructed before the date of this
Article serving a lot or property without residence or business which
at the judgement of the Road Commissioner requires a culvert will
be installed at the property owner's expense.

As much as is practical, all work will be sent out for contractor
bids. However, it is recognized that some repairs will not be of the
size that it is practical to obtain bids; in these cases, a written
itemized estimate must be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval
by vote. Bid approval will be by vote of the Trustees, and they are
not bound to accept the lowest bid.

As much as possible, all business and residents will be informed
of road and street work being considered in advance so that they can
have input into the project. Also, as much as possible, they will
be informed of approximate dates of work to be performed. However,
the Trustees are not responsible to inform each party directly.

Any future entrance or exit to a Village-maintained street or
road must be approved by the Road Commissioner and authorized with
the issuance of a Zoning Compliance Permit.

When new asphalt surfacing is being applied, the Village will
be responsible for entering a driveway only to the road right-of-way
or to the property line to meet existing paving or tapered, as appropriate.
