The New Britain Borough Parks and Recreation Committee is hereby created as a standing committee of the Borough.
The New Britain Borough Parks and Recreation Committee shall be composed of not less than five nor more than seven voting members appointed at the discretion of the Borough Council. Committee members may be removed upon majority vote of the Borough Council.
At the first meeting of each calendar year, the members of the Committee shall elect from their membership a Chair, Vice Chair and such other officers as the Committee deems necessary. Officers shall be voting members of the Committee. The Chair shall preside over the meetings. In the Chair's absence, the Vice Chair shall preside. If both the Chair and the Vice Chair are absent, the remaining members, if a quorum exists, shall select from among themselves a person to preside over the meeting.
The Parks and Recreation Committee shall meet at least once per month, unless the Chair determines that there is no business to be transacted by the Committee. A quorum shall consist of a simple majority of the total number of voting members. All meetings shall be advertised as required under the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act.[1]
