The running at large of any dog in and about the streets, highways, roads, public places and private property, other than the property possessed by the owner and secured with an adequate enclosure, is hereby prohibited, unless said dog or dogs shall be led on a chain, leash, or line.

No person owning or harboring any dog shall permit it to do any damage or injury to any lawn, shrubbery, flowers, garden or property.
It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to keep any animal which habitually barks, howls, yelps, whines or cries to the great discomfort of the peace and quiet of the neighborhood or in such manner as to materially disturb or annoy persons in the neighborhood. Such animals are hereby declared to be a public nuisance and, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-1, are also declared to be a disturbing noise. Barking, howling, or the making of other loud noises by such animal continually for more than 15 minutes or intermittently for 30 minutes, unless provoked, shall be deemed to disturb the peace and to cause the annoyance and discomfort of persons in the Borough of Bellmawr.
It shall be unlawful for any person to cause or permit a dog or cat to be on property, public or private, not owned or possessed by such person unless such person has in his immediate possession an appropriate device for scooping excrement and an appropriate depository for the transmission of excrement to a receptacle located upon property owned or possessed by such person.
A person who owns, keeps, harbors or has custody of a dog or dogs shall maintain such person's property in a sanitary manner so as to prevent any noxious odors, attraction of insects, attraction of vermin and any other public health nuisances.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article or any order promulgated hereunder shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination thereof, and each violation of any of the provisions of this article and each day that such violation shall continue shall be deemed to be a separate and distinct offense.

The entry of dogs or other domestic animals onto the athletic fields and all recreational facilities within the Borough of Bellmawr is prohibited.
