That a certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Laurie, being marked and
designated as the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, including
Appendix Chapters A through G, as published by the International Code
Council, be and is hereby adopted as the code of the City of Laurie
for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property
from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling
and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions
hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises
in the City of Laurie and providing for the issuance of permits for
hazardous uses or operations; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, conditions and terms of such International Fire Code,
2000 Edition, published by the International Code Council, on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Laurie are hereby referred
to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Article.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this Article or
of the Code adopted in this Article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding
five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned in the City or County
Jail for a period of not exceeding three (3) months, or both such
fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation is committed or permitted
to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable
as such hereunder.
