This Department shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance
of all property assigned to the maintenance operations of the Township
and shall perform all functions related thereto, as required; including,
but not limited to those specified below.

The Highways Operation shall perform, but not be limited to,
the following functions:
A. Be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Township passageways,
such as streets, bridges, sidewalks, and stormwater drains.
B. The elimination of snow and ice hazards from such passageways, including
the distribution of salt, sand, ashes or the like for the diminution
of such hazards.
C. Planting, maintaining and removal of trees, brush and other such
vegetation.
D. Prepare and maintain records necessary to the functions of the Highways
Operation.
E. Be responsible, as directed by the Manager, for the erection and
maintenance of traffic control devices and signs, other than those
under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth.
The Garage and Central Stores Operation shall perform the following
functions:
A. Maintain and repair all property and equipment, including motorized
equipment, of the Public Works Department.
B. Stock for each of the various departments such parts and other equipment
as necessary.
C. Prepare and maintain all records necessary to the functions of the
Garage and Central Stores Operation.
The Maintenance Operation shall be responsible for the following
functions:
A. Janitorial services of all Township buildings except as otherwise
directed by the Manager.
B. Care and repair of all Township structures, buildings, land, parks,
playgrounds, and other Township property, the care and repair of which
has not been assigned to other departments or operations of the Township.
