Pursuant to the authority granted by § 755.01 and
Ch. 755, Wis. Stats., as amended from time to time, there is hereby
created and established the Municipal Court for the City of Arcadia,
Wisconsin.
Pursuant to the authority granted by § 755.01, Wis.
Stats., as amended from time to time, there is hereby created the
office of Judge of the Municipal Court ("Municipal Judge") for the
City of Arcadia, Wisconsin.
The Municipal Judge shall be elected at large at the spring
election for a term of four years commencing on May 1 succeeding his
or her election.
The Municipal Judge shall receive a monthly salary as determined by resolution of the Common Council, which shall be in lieu of fees and costs. No salary shall be paid to the Municipal Judge for any time during his or her term for which he or she has not executed and filed his or her official bond and oath as required by §
22-5 of this chapter or for which he or she has not completed the training required by § 755.18, Wis. Stats., as amended from time to time.
The Municipal Judge shall take and file with the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Trempealeau County the oath prescribed by § 757.02(1),
Wis. Stats., as amended from time to time, and at the same time execute
and file an official bond in the amount to be fixed by the Common
Council.
The Municipal Judge shall have jurisdiction as provided by law
and §§ 755.045 and 755.05, Wis. Stats., as amended
from time to time.
The Municipal Judge may impose, or petition the court assigned
to exercise jurisdiction under Chs. 48 and 938, Wis. Stats., to impose,
any of the dispositions authorized under § 938.343 or 938.344,
Wis. Stats., as amended from time to time, and any of the sanctions
authorized under § 938.355(6)(d), Wis. Stats., as amended
from time to time, upon any juvenile convicted of a civil law or ordinance
violation.
The Common Council shall appoint one Clerk, who shall receive
compensation as determined by resolution of the Common Council. Such
Clerk shall take and file the oath prescribed by § 19.01,
Wis. Stats., as amended from time to time.
In a Municipal Court action, the Municipal Judge shall collect
the maximum fee prescribed by § 814.65(1), Wis. Stats.
