Township of Hazlet, NJ Article VI Department of Zoning

§ 5-25 Department established; Zoning Officer as head.

There shall be a department of Zoning of the Township the head of which shall be the Zoning Officer.

§ 5-26 Responsibilities.

A. The administration and enforcement of the provisions, requirements, regulations and standards contained in the Development Review Ordinance, Chapter 181 of the Township Code.

B. The issuance of zoning permits and approval certificates.

C. The processing of all development applications including the filing and scheduling of applications with the Township Land Use Board.

D. Providing, maintaining and distributing:

(1) Plans and documents for pending development applications;

(2) Minutes of Land Use Board meetings;

(3) Copies of the Development Review Ordinance;

(4) Resolutions memorializing actions of the Land Use Board.

E. Determining jurisdiction with regard to variance applications.

F. Investigating zoning complaints and prosecuting violations.

G. Determining whether variances or waivers are required with regard to development applications.

H. Making and certifying lists of current property owners for purposes of development application notifications.
