There is hereby established the office of Borough Administrator,
pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-136, to administer the business affairs
of the Borough of Bay Head and to have such powers and perform such
duties as hereinafter set forth, with the exception of those required
by law to be exercised by the Mayor and/or Borough Council or by another
officer, board or body.
The Borough Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor with
the advice and consent of the Borough Council, on either a full- or
part-time basis as set forth in the resolution of appointment. The
term of office shall be at the pleasure of the governing body, subject
to the provisions of state law.
The Borough Administrator may be removed by a two-thirds vote
of the Borough Council. The resolution of removal shall become effective
three months after its adoption by the Borough Council. The Borough
Council may provide that the resolution shall have immediate effect;
provided, however, that the Borough Council shall then cause to be
paid to the Administrator forthwith any unpaid balance of his compensation
and compensation for the next three calendar months following adoption
of the resolution.
