A. The
Mayor, with the approval of the majority of the members of the Board
of Aldermen, shall appoint some qualified individual as Prosecuting
and City Attorney.
B. As
City Attorney, counsel shall advise the Board of Aldermen and Mayor
on all legal matters submitted by them on municipal affairs and their
offices, shall attend or be represented at all Board meetings when
requested by the Mayor or Board of Aldermen and shall perform such
other legal services as the Board of Aldermen or Mayor may further
direct.
C. As
Prosecuting Attorney, counsel shall represent the City as its prosecutor
in the Municipal Court of the City and before the Circuit Court of
the County of St. Louis on any appeals and shall perform each of the
legal services incidental to the prosecution of violations of ordinances
of the City.
D. Nothing
herein shall be construed as preventing the Board of Aldermen or Mayor,
with the consent of the majority of the Board of Aldermen, from employing
special counsel.
