A. The
Mayor, with the approval of a majority of the members of the Board
of Aldermen, shall have the power to appoint a City Engineer who is
otherwise qualified to hold said office as specified herein.
B. The
City Engineer shall be duly licensed by the State of Missouri to practice
the profession of engineering or architecture.
C. The
City Engineer shall perform the following general services for the
City:
1. To attend all meetings of the Board of Aldermen, Board of Adjustment
and Planning and Zoning Commission when requested by the Mayor or
a majority of the requesting boards;
2. To provide advisory services to the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, Board
of Adjustment and Planning and Zoning Commission including, but not
limited to, the preparation of engineering estimates, scope of services
criteria, bids and specifications, legal descriptions or other engineering
or survey documents when requested by the Mayor or a majority of the
requesting Boards;
3. To maintain and update all zoning changes and general information
with regard to the City's Zoning Map and keep all such records current.
D. The City Engineer shall be compensated on an hourly basis for professional engineering services rendered to the City as specified in Subsection
(C). The City Engineer shall be an independent contractor with the City and shall be compensated per billable hour, plus expenses, in accordance with a written contract for professional engineering and architectural services, to be entered into by the City with the City Engineer.
