A.
Any
buildings that were lawfully constructed prior to June 1, 1954, may
continue to be used, even though such building does not conform to
the provisions of this Chapter, but may not be expanded or altered
other than in conformity with the provisions of this Chapter.
B.
The
lawful use of the land existing prior to June 1, 1954, may be continued,
although such use does not conform to the provisions of this Chapter;
unless such use shall be discontinued for a period of six (6) months
or more, in which case the property may only be used thereafter in
conformity with this Chapter.
C.
Nothing
in this Chapter shall prevent the restoration of a building destroyed
to the extent of not more than seventy-five percent (75%) of its reasonable
value by fire, explosion or other casualty or act of God or the public
enemy, nor the continued occupancy or use of such building or part
thereof which existed at the time of such partial destruction.
