By the Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope, Orange County,
New York, pursuant to New York State Real Property Tax Law § 328,
§ 3 of Chapter 361 of the Laws of the State of New York
for the year 1986, and the New York State Real Property Tax Law, Title
2, § 310, the Town of Mount Hope shall have one Assessor,
to serve a six-year term of office, the first such term being a part-term
ending on September 30, 1989.
This article is subject to permissive referendum on petition
as provided in Real Property Tax Law § 328. In the event
that a petition for permissive referendum is not submitted, the elective
offices of the members of the Board of Assessors of the Town of Mount
Hope shall terminate on May 15, 1987.
This article shall take effect immediately upon compliance with
the provisions of Article 3 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the
State of New York. Should a referendum be required to pass this article,
the elective offices of the members of the Board of Assessors of the
Town of Mount Hope shall terminate on December 31, 1987, and the appointive
office of Assessor shall commence on January 1, 1988.

The date for the meeting of the Town of Mount Hope Board of
Assessment Review to hear complaints in relation to tax assessments
within the Town of Mount Hope is hereby established as the first Wednesday
following the fourth Tuesday in May of each year (Grievance Day).
